Duties
- Lead the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and related mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals to execute projects accurately.
- Supervise and coordinate field service activities, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining safety standards.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems as needed, including pipe fitting and system connections.
- Conduct equipment repair using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment; troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
- Manage property maintenance tasks associated with HVAC/R systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Operate a driver vehicle safely for transportation of materials and equipment to job sites.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices in HVAC installation, service techniques, schematics interpretation, and safety procedures.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service reports, schematics updates, and maintenance logs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for refrigeration (including ammonia systems), HVAC/R regulations, and safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience as a construction or service technician specializing in HVAC installation and maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, welding, boiler systems, and appliance repair.
- Familiarity with HVAC design principles, schematics reading, and property maintenance practices.
- Experience working with refrigeration systems—particularly ammonia refrigeration—and understanding of HVAC/R industry standards.
- Field service experience demonstrating ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC installations; experience with Ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver vehicles is advantageous.
