Mountain West Montessori Academy, a public charter school located in South Jordan, Utah, is now accepting applications for a classroom paraprofessional. The position is part-time (26 hours per week), working closely with an experienced teacher in a Montessori kindergarten classroom of about 26 students, supporting students academically and helping maintain intellectual curiosity, growth mindset, and positive classroom culture. The position also includes fostering social and emotional skills during recess and lunch times.
The ideal candidate will respect and appreciate children as individuals, enjoy working with students, possess experience and skills in elementary content areas as well as classroom management, and be well-versed in being kind and firm and in attention to detail/organizational skills.
Preference may be given to candidates licensed as paraprofessionals or possessing an Associate Degree or higher as well as to candidates with Montessori experience; however, we are willing to support the right candidate in becoming highly qualified.
