Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform accurate diagnoses.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and DEA regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for precise documentation of medical records, clinical notes, and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT).
- Collaborate seamlessly with healthcare professionals across specialties including gastroenterology, infectious disease care, cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology, and occupational health to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in telehealth consultations and clinical research initiatives to stay at the forefront of medical advancements and improve service delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in diverse clinical environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced procedures including suturing, venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, and tube feeding management.
- Strong background in managing acute pain cases, infection control protocols, and utilizing EMR/EHR systems effectively for documentation and billing purposes.
- Experience working with special populations such as pediatric patients (including neonatal ventilator use), elderly patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation law and case management processes to support injured workers’ recovery plans.
