Job Summary
As a Senior Accountant at IndiMade Brands, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial operations. You will lead critical components of the monthly close process, drive ERP optimization initiatives, and deliver high-quality financial reporting that supports sound business decisions. This role is ideal for a self-directed accounting professional who takes full ownership of their responsibilities and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Your work will directly support IndiMade Brands’ continued growth by strengthening financial controls, improving processes, and providing leadership with the financial insight they need.
Key Responsibilities
Primary duties and accountabilities for this role include:
- Lead key components of the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Perform expense and variance analysis; research and resolve discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare financial reports and audit-ready documentation in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Support and optimize ERP system functionality (NetSuite preferred) to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy
- Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, depreciation calculations, and supporting documentation
- Strengthen and document internal controls; identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Assist with regulatory filings, tax-related submissions, and coordination with external providers as needed
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing analysis and schedule preparation
- Provide ad hoc reporting and financial analysis to leadership to support strategic decision-making
- Support inventory counts and assist with inventory and cost accounting activities as needed
- Supports other finance and accounting operations as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred
- Experience with inventory and cost accounting strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP systems required; NetSuite experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions
- Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation discipline and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Motivated self-starter who takes ownership of responsibilities and works effectively with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license or active CPA-track candidacy
- Experience supporting annual audits and preparing audit-ready documentation
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Experience working in a private equity-backed company or PE-portfolio environment
- Demonstrated ERP implementation, optimization, or system transition experience
- Proven track record of structured problem-solving and process improvement in an accounting context
Physical Requirements
Note: This role is primarily office-based but includes periodic inventory support in a warehouse or production environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Requires normal range of hearing and visual acuity
- May be exposed to strong fragrances and odors during periodic visits to production or warehouse areas
