Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Aircraft Repair Technician to support aircraft and aerospace component repair operations. This role performs aircraft maintenance, structural repairs, composite repairs, inspections, and component evaluations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in aircraft, aerospace, turbine engine component repair, composite structures, sheet metal repair, and inspection processes. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and the flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform aircraft maintenance, repair, and modification activities worldwide while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
- Perform aircraft composite and sheet metal repairs, including structural repairs, component fabrication, bonding, finishing, and restoration.
- Repair aircraft turbine engine components and aerospace hardware in accordance with approved technical data and repair procedures.
- Set up and operate hand tools and repair equipment, including grinders, drills, rivet guns, sanders, precision measuring tools, and other shop equipment.
- Perform hand blending of critical surfaces, drilling, reaming, hole relocation, riveting, and other structural repair processes.
- Perform composite repairs including adhesive application, layup, vacuum bagging, curing, painting, and finishing of carbon fiber and fiberglass components.
- Remove coatings and adhesives using approved processes such as media blasting, grinding, and machining.
- Read, interpret, and execute aircraft repair procedures, technical manuals, drawings, and engineering instructions.
- Understand and apply basic dimensioning, tolerances, and measurement requirements.
- Conduct inspections of aerospace components, including preliminary, in-process, final, and hidden damage inspections.
- Evaluate hardware and document inspection findings throughout the repair process.
- Perform inspections using calibrated measurement equipment and precision hand tools.
- Inspect metal, composite, and honeycomb structures using applicable technical data, industry standards, FAA requirements, and approved repair documentation.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Support outside processing inspections and verify incoming hardware meets required specifications.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all safety procedures and FAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers, aircraft owners/operators, team members, and management.
- Build strong customer relationships through professionalism, accountability, and quality workmanship.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and complete tasks within required timelines.
- Cross-train in multiple repair and inspection disciplines as business needs require.
- Travel domestically and internationally on short notice as required.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the United States (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder).
- Aircraft maintenance, aerospace repair, aviation, or industrial repair experience preferred.
- Experience with aircraft composite repair and/or sheet metal repair.
- Ability to work in an aircraft or aerospace repair environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, repair manuals, and drawings.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools and understand inspection requirements.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and adjust schedules based on business requirements.
- Ability to pass FAA-required drug and alcohol screening.
- Must maintain a drug-free workplace.
