Job Summary:
The Asphalt Quality Control Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing the quality of the products produced by the company, scheduling technicians, troubleshooting issues, making final decisions on mix changes and corrective actions, and providing job mix formula information for bid estimates.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Schedule technicians for each working day.

Troubleshoot issues as they arise to ensure high-quality standards.

Make final decisions on mix changes and corrective actions.

Provide mix design information for bids to the engineering department.

Approve employee timecards for payroll processing.

Oversee mix design processes (quality and economically).
-
Maintain organized filing of job-related documents.
-
Communicate with agencies as needed.

File paperwork to state agencies for projects

Ensure consistent product quality on a day-to-day basis.

Execute and maintain Quality System Management (QSM) standards.

In-person attendance is required.
Other Required Duties and Responsibilities:

May be assigned additional tasks and duties by management.

Occasionally required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work indoors (labs and office environments) and outdoors (stone quarries, sand pits, asphalt plants, etc.) in various weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, cold etc.).

Safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing and descending ladders.
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, or anything in order to ensure availability at all times.

Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.

Ability to work under pressure and make big decisions quickly is required.

Ability to manage people and their changing lives is essential.
Education and Experience:

Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required.

Knowledge of the asphalt paving industry, aggregate crushing, and dredging is highly desirable.

ODOT Asphalt Level 2,3 certifications is required.
-
ODOT Aggregate Level 1, 2, 3 recommended.
