The Wellstar Diagnostic Float Team (WEST Team) supports a variety of imaging services across our facilities. Region Two includes Douglas Medical Center, Cobb Hospital, and Paulding Medical Center.

As a CT Technologist for Region Two, you will apply your expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at each location you serve. If you prefer a role that avoids routine, lets you use your full skill set, and provides straightforward pay, this could be a strong fit.

In return for stepping in where you’re needed most, Float Pool members earn a higher base rate and may be eligible for a float incentive.

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
-
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting
-
Minimum 2 years of CT experience in a hospital setting
-
ARRT-R (Radiography)
-
ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography)
-
BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association
-
Perform CT exams per physician orders, department protocols, and safety standards.
-
Verify patient identity, obtain relevant history, and screen for contraindications (including contrast risk).
-
Explain procedures clearly using AIDET and communicate with patients/families with empathy and confidence.
-
Prepare and position patients; assist with mobility, safe transfers, and use immobilization/shielding as needed.

Establish IV access using sterile technique and maintain venipuncture competency.
-
Administer contrast media safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions; escalate concerns promptly.

Operate CT scanners and power injectors safely; confirm proper anatomical markers and scan parameters.

Optimize technique to achieve diagnostic image quality while minimizing radiation dose (ALARA).

Evaluate image quality, recognize urgent findings/clinical changes, and involve the radiologist/physician when indicated.

Complete documentation accurately and on time; manage RIS entries, PACS uploads, and CDs/logs when required.

Perform, document, and follow through on QC checks, calibration verification, and compliance/audit standards.

Maintain smooth daily operations by prioritizing workload, supporting cross-coverage/clerical needs, keeping rooms stocked and equipment cleaned/disinfected, participating in on-call, and adhering to regulatory/Joint Commission standards.
