Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining complex network systems that support our clients’ operations. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity, security, and performance across diverse IT environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to critical infrastructure projects. All work must be performed on-site.
Responsibilities
- Strong routing/switching fundamentals (e.g., Cisco IOS/NX-OS or equivalent) and hands-on experience with enterprise or tactical network hardware.
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and secure network segmentation appropriate for a SIPR environment.
- Working knowledge of DNS architecture, including support for authoritative DNS services (e.g., PowerDNS) running on the platform.
- Familiarity with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible for network configuration) to support the platform's IaC direction.
- Ability to troubleshoot connectivity in disconnected, intermittent, or OCONUS network environments.
- Comfortable coordinating with a broader reach-back network team (via the Contractor's existing CSC network organization) rather than working in isolation.
- DoD 8570 Cert
Additional / Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent vendor-neutral certification (e.g., CompTIA Network+/Security+).
- Experience supporting network requirements for containerized/Kubernetes platforms specifically (e.g., CNI plugins, load balancer/ingress networking).
- Prior experience in an OCONUS bootstrap/stand-up role, including hands-on hardware installation.
Experience
- Proven experience designing and managing enterprise-level computer networking environments with a focus on high availability and load balancing.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP; familiarity with MPLS networks is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with cloud security platforms such as AWS or Azure; understanding of virtualization technologies like VMware or vSphere.
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation of network tasks; experience with DevOps practices is advantageous.
- Background in network troubleshooting across diverse hardware platforms; ability to diagnose complex issues involving TCP/IP protocols, DNS, DHCP, SFTP/FTP/HTTPS protocols.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks for service management; experience supporting telecommunication systems including VoIP and SSO integrations.
- Knowledge of network management tools like SolarWinds or PRTG for monitoring system health; experience conducting vulnerability assessments using tools like Splunk or other SIEM solutions.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Four (4) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
Minimum Experience
5+ years of network engineering experience, including experience supporting DoD or OCONUS network environments.
