Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Assistant to support our clinical team in delivering exceptional patient care. In this fast-paced role, you will assist with clinical procedures, patient education, and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience for our patients. Your work will play a key role in enhancing patient satisfaction and contributing to the success of our new facility. Prior familiarity with our EMR, eClinicalWorks is a bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for exams and procedures.
- Record vital signs, medical history, and patient information in the EMR system.
- Assist physicians during procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as phlebotomy, specimen collection, and preparation.
- Administer medications and injections as directed.
- Educate patients on treatments, medications, and follow-up care.
- Manage exam room cleanliness and restock medical supplies.
- Handle patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments.
- Process transactions for supplements and medications sales.
- Maintain inventory records for medical supplies, medications, and insurance claims, and
- order replacements as needed.
- Assist with patient reminders, follow-up calls, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and clinic protocols.
- Coordinate specialist referrals as directed by the provider.
- Troubleshoot and maintain medical equipment.
- Complete and submit prior authorizations.
- Submit prescription refills.
- Assist with social media engagement and customer interactions.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (required).
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) highly preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A team player with a positive attitude and an empathetic patient-focused approach.
