Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and compassionate Legal Secretary to join our small family law practice. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit office environment, values client relationships, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, proofread, and file legal documents, correspondence, and court forms
- Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, appointments, and meetings
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Answer phones, screen calls, and welcome clients to the office
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files
- Schedule hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings
- Assist with billing, time entry, and administrative tasks as needed
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filing of legal documents
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Qualifications
- Prior legal secretary, legal assistant, or administrative experience preferred
- Family law experience is a plus but not required
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy

Compensation
