Job Summary
TCH's Hollow Metal department is very busy keeping up with the demand of doors and frames for the ever-growing construction industry and we are looking for a Door Prepper/ CNC Machine Operator to help prep and fabricate Hollow Metal (HM) doors per order.
Essential Job Functions
- Accurately prepare door per templates, drawings and TCH shop orders (cut, modify)
- Review orders, coordinate with HM Shift Lead on anything that seems unusual in the order
- Check HM doors for damage or flaws prior to prepping and staging, fix damage as necessary
- Properly stage HM doors in correct locations once completed
- Program CNC machine for required preps per TCH paperwork and templates
- Install additional components in doors (lite kits, reinforcements, tabs, etc) per TCH paperwork and templates
- Check and verify special order doors from manufacturers to ensure the correct product and preps are provided
- Accurately pull material for orders prior to prepping and shipping
- Uphold safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of shop tools – welder, grinder, jig saw circular saw, die grinder, vacuum lifter, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of industry nomenclature and materials
- Advanced understanding of TCH paperwork and proper flow
- Advanced math skills
- Advanced measuring skills – tape measure
- General knowledge of CNC machine and software
- General computer skills in a Windows/ Google based environment
- Forklift certified, or willing to become certified
- Favorable results from drug screen and physical
Working conditions
Manufacturing environment susceptible to temperature changes; most of the day on your feet. Hearing protection and use of other Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required.
Physical requirements- these percentages are approximate
Twisting – 15% , Bending – 50%, Push/pull - 15%, Squatting - 20%
Lifting: 10 to 20 lbs – 35%, 20 to 50 lbs – 45%, 50 to 100 lbs – 15%, 100 and up – 5%
