The ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (ND DOCR) has a rewarding opportunity for a full-time System Mechanic II to provide services at the North Dakota State Penitentiary (NDSP) in Bismarck, ND. NDSP is a facility for maximum security, adult, male residents. Individuals at this level perform routine work in the maintenance and repair of HVAC&R systems and/or power plant equipment.
Duties and Tasks
Repair, adjust, service and maintain heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment and controls.
Operate and maintain automated systems and power plant equipment.
Follow blueprints, schematics, or other design specifications in installation of HVAC&R equipment.
Operate equipment, tools and diagnostic testing devices.
Maintain records on repair work completed.
Inspect, adjust and repair problems.
Conduct operational tests within the applicable system.
Diagnose problems through building automation systems, provide corrective recommendations and estimated cost.
Maintain detailed maintenance records.
May assist with other trades as needed.
May supervise HVAC&R related activities of other trade or maintenance workers.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED and three years of work experience in the maintenance and repair of heating plant equipment, heating and ventilation equipment, or air conditioning systems. College coursework in a field related to position responsibilities may substitute for the work experience on a year-for-year basis.
