Position Summary
The Programs & Communications Specialist is responsible for managing the Association's communications, marketing initiatives, and assigned programs. This position serves as the primary staff lead for the Lancaster Parade of Homes while supporting additional Association events and initiatives that strengthen member engagement, enhance the BIA's visibility, and advance the Association's strategic priorities.
Essential Responsibilities
Communications & Marketing
· Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies that promote the Association, its programs, events, and member value.
· Manage the Association's website, social media, email marketing, and digital communications.
· Create promotional materials, publications, articles, press releases, and other branded content.
· Maintain consistent branding across all communications and evaluate marketing effectiveness.
Programs & Events
· Serve as the primary staff lead for the Lancaster Parade of Homes, managing the planning, marketing, coordination, and execution of the Association's signature consumer event.
· Serve as the staff liaison to the Parade of Homes Committee, coordinating builder participation, judging, awards, the Parade Gala, and related activities.
· Support the planning, promotion, and execution of Association programs and events, including event logistics, registrations, communications, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and event materials.
· Conduct post-event evaluations and recommend improvements to enhance future programs.
Member & Committee Support
· Provide staff support to assigned committees and task forces.
· Serve as a professional and responsive resource for members, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.
· Support Association initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
· Three or more years of experience in communications, marketing, event planning, nonprofit, or association management preferred.
· Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, WordPress, social media platforms, and email marketing software.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and provide exceptional member service.
· Some lifting and event setup may be required.
Compensation & Schedule
· Compensation: $27–$30 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
· Schedule: Part-time, approximately 25-30 hours per week, with a flexible daytime schedule and occasional evening and weekend meetings or events.
· Paid Time Off: Paid time off is provided in accordance with the BIA Personnel Policy.
· Occasional local travel within Lancaster County for meetings and Association events.
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
