Liberty Christian Preparatory School (LCP) is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered Music & Performing Arts Teacherto inspire students through music, worship, theater, and the performing arts. We are looking for an energetic educator who can cultivate students' musical abilities while leading engaging performances that glorify God and showcase student talent.
Position Overview
The Music & Performing Arts Teacher will provide instruction in vocal and instrumental music while developing students' appreciation for the arts from a biblical worldview. This individual will direct seasonal musical productions, concerts, chapel worship opportunities, and a major Winter or Spring Showcase each school year.
Essential Responsibilities
- Teach engaging music classes for assigned grade levels.
- Develop students' vocal, rhythmic, and instrumental skills.
- Introduce students to a variety of musical styles, composers, and performance techniques.
- Incorporate biblical principles and Christian values into music instruction.
- Direct school choir, ensembles, and student performances.
- Plan, rehearse, and produce a major Winter or Spring musical production/showcase annually.
- Coordinate seasonal concerts, chapel worship teams, and special school performances.
- Integrate drama and theater elements into performances and classroom instruction.
- Assist students in developing confidence through public performance.
- Maintain music equipment, instruments, and classroom resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and administration on school programs and special events.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding performances, rehearsals, and student progress.
- Attend faculty meetings, orientation, open house, graduation, concerts, and other required school events.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications
Required
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects biblical principles.
- Active involvement in a Bible-believing church.
- Bachelor's Degree in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching music in a classroom or ministry setting.
- Experience directing musical performances, concerts, or theatrical productions.
- Strong vocal music background.
- Experience with multiple musical instruments (piano proficiency preferred).
- Experience in drama and/or theater production.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred
- Experience directing children's or youth choirs.
- Experience leading choir performances.
- Experience with stage production, choreography, lighting, or sound.
- Private or Christian school teaching experience.
- FACCS certification (or willingness to obtain).
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
