About Social 52
Social 52 is one of Richmond’s busiest neighborhood restaurants and bars located in the heart of The Fan. We are known for our high-energy atmosphere, strong food and beverage program, packed happy hours, brunch, trivia nights, live entertainment, and a team-first culture.
We are looking for a proven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands hospitality at a high level, and can lead from the front. This is not a desk job. Our General Manager is expected to be visible on the floor, develop people, drive sales, control costs, and create an exceptional guest experience every day.
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant, including operations, financial performance, team development, guest satisfaction, and execution of company standards.
The ideal candidate is a strong operator who can balance hospitality, accountability, leadership, and profitability while maintaining a positive culture.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop all managers and hourly team members
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain top talent
- Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professionalism
- Conduct regular manager meetings and performance reviews
- Hold all team members accountable to company standards
Operations
- Oversee daily front and back of house operations
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences at all times
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and effectively
- Ensure all systems, procedures, and policies are followed
Financial Performance
- Drive sales growth and profitability
- Manage labor costs and scheduling
- Monitor food, liquor, beer, and wine costs
- Analyze weekly P&L statements and operational reports
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue and efficiency
Bar & Beverage Program
- Work closely with Bar Management to maintain a strong beverage program
- Monitor liquor, beer, and wine costs
- Support seasonal cocktail development and promotions
- Ensure responsible alcohol service standards are upheld
Community & Brand Development
- Represent Social 52 within the community
- Support local events, promotions, and partnerships
- Build relationships with guests and create loyal regulars
- Help continue growing one of Richmond’s most recognized neighborhood brands
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of restaurant management experience
- Minimum 2 years as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager
- Strong knowledge of restaurant financials and P&L management
- Experience managing high-volume restaurants and bars
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong understanding of labor management, inventory, and cost controls
