Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to transport freight across designated routes. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks—including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks—will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and commercial trucks with manual transmissions across assigned routes, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and compliance with safety standards.
- Transport various types of freight, including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized cargo, maintaining proper handling procedures for each.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip.
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery schedules while managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the route.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission trucks is preferred.
- Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery; familiarity with route driving is highly valued.
- Experience operating specialized trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using equipment like forklifts or manual methods when necessary.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to commercial driving and cargo handling; familiarity with DOT regulations is essential.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and customers.
