RV Fit & Finish Technician
Position Summary
The RV Fit & Finish Technician is responsible for the final cosmetic, sealing, detailing, and presentation quality of Hiker Trailers before delivery to the customer. This role ensures every trailer meets Hiker’s standards for craftsmanship, cleanliness, appearance, and overall customer-ready quality. The technician performs detailed finishing work including sealants, touch-ups, cleaning, decal application, minor cosmetic corrections, and final visual inspections.

Key Responsibilities
Final Finish & Cosmetic Work
- Apply silicone, sealants, caulking, and weatherproofing materials neatly and consistently
- Perform cosmetic touch-ups including paint correction, scratch repair, edge finishing, and surface refinishing
- Sand, buff, polish, and clean surfaces to achieve high-quality presentation standards
- Inspect for cosmetic imperfections and correct issues before final QC
- Remove excess adhesive, residue, fingerprints, and production debris
Trailer Detailing & Cleaning
- Complete interior and exterior detailing of trailers prior to delivery
- Vacuum, wipe down, wash, and prepare trailers for customer pickup or shipment
- Ensure all compartments, cabinets, windows, and trim are clean and functional
- Verify trailers are presentation-ready and customer-ready
Decals & Branding
- Install exterior decals, logos, VIN labels, and branding materials accurately
- Ensure proper alignment, adhesion, and appearance of all graphics and labels
- Remove and replace damaged or misaligned decals as needed
Final Assembly Support
- Assist with final trim installation and minor assembly adjustments
- Install finishing hardware, caps, trim pieces, weather seals, and protective materials
- Support production team with final fitment corrections and detail-oriented adjustments
Quality Control Support
- Conduct detailed visual inspections of completed trailers
- Identify cosmetic defects, fitment issues, or unfinished work
- Communicate deficiencies to production leads and assist in corrections
- Maintain consistent quality standards across all trailer models
Shop & Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Properly handle chemicals, sealants, and cleaning products
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Assist with continuous improvement of production finishing processes
Qualifications
Required
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Ability to work with hand tools and detailing supplies
- Comfortable standing, bending, and working with hands throughout the day
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain quality standards
- Reliable attendance and positive team attitude
Preferred
- Experience in RV, automotive, marine, cabinetry, or manufacturing finishing work
- Experience with detailing, paint correction, or sealant application
- Familiarity with adhesives, silicones, and cosmetic repair techniques
- Experience applying vinyl decals or graphics

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
