Position Summary
The Project Engineer supports the Owner’s Representative team in managing construction projects on behalf of the client. This role acts as a liaison between owners, architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered in alignment with the owner’s goals for scope, schedule, budget, and quality. The Project Engineer plays a key role in document control, coordination, and project oversight throughout all phases of construction.
A. Essential Functions
1. Support Owner’s Representative and Project Managers in overseeing projects from pre-construction through closeout
2. Assist in managing project scope, schedule, and budget on behalf of the owner
3. Review and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and other construction documentation
4. Coordinate communication between owners, design team, general contractor, and other stakeholders
5. Monitor construction progress and identify potential risks or delays, escalating issues as needed
6. Participate in project meetings; prepare agendas, meeting minutes, and action item tracking
7. Assist with procurement processes, bid reviews, and contractor selection support
8. Review contractor pay applications and supporting documentation for accuracy
9. Conduct site visits to observe construction progress and ensure alignment with project goals
10. Maintain organized and accurate project records and reporting for the owner
B. Qualifications
1. Required Experience
a. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
b. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms preferred but not required.
c. Basic understanding of cost management, scheduling, and construction documentation review
2. Required Skills
a. Time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
b. Excellent team player with exceptional interpersonal skills.
c. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); familiarity with project management software is a plus
d. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
e. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
