Key Account Manager Position Summary
The Key Account Manager is responsible for the operational and customer relationship management of assigned accounts. This role partners with Site Managers and Supervisors to ensure contractual obligations are met, customer satisfaction remains high, and operations are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget. The Key Account Manager also identifies opportunities for account growth and supports the development of site leadership.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary operational contact for assigned customer accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Ensure site staffing, quality, safety, and compliance standards are consistently achieved.
- Support Site Managers/supervisors in the execution of contractual requirements and day-to-day operations.
- Monitor labor, overtime, and supply costs to ensure accounts remain within budget.
- Conduct routine site visits, customer meetings, and operational reviews.
- Ensure customer reports, inspections, and required documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Support compliance with FDA, GMP, ISO, and company quality and safety standards.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and performance management in partnership with Human Resources.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and expand services within existing accounts.
- Support new account startups and operational transitions as needed.
- Mentor Site Managers and Supervisors to strengthen operational performance and leadership capabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of operations, facilities, or account management experience, preferably in GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or facility services.
- Experience managing multiple customer accounts or locations.
- Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the workweek.
- Ability to respond to occasional operational emergencies outside of normal business hours.
Pay: $80,304.00 per year
