Job Summary
- The USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Compliance Specialist monitors licensed family day care home providers, licensed centers and registered day care ministries participating in the CACFP across Northern Indiana (Lake, Cass, Elkhart, Fulton, LaPorte, Marshall, Porter, Starke and St. Joseph Counties).
- This is a home-based position that requires travel around the specialist's territory. Specialists will work outside from their home office as well as visit licensed childcare providers, centers and day care ministries on site. Due to the nature of monitoring, specialist’s work hours may vary based on the licensed childcare provider’s hours of operation.
- Part-Time Approximately 65-70 hours per month

- $22.00-$25.00/ hour, direct hire
Specific Duties Include:
- Conduct announced and unannounced site monitoring visits at participating locations.
- Observe mealtime activity and interact with staff and participants.
- Communicate report outcomes. Monitor finding with the Director as well as childcare facilities.
- Assist in creating a corrective action plan when necessary.
- Maintain records related to mandatory training completion.
- Other duties related to the CACFP as assigned by the Director.
Requirements:
- Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural and socio-economic characteristics of the population served.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal, written and organizational skills as well as attention to detail.
- Valid Driver’s license, dependable vehicle and vehicle insurance.
- Knowledge of the Child and Adult Care Food Program is helpful but not required (Training will be provided).
- Associates Degree or CDA Credential preferred.
- Previous background in government compliance programs, school lunch programs, dietician experience or early childhood development experience strongly preferred.
