About Us
We're excited to be the newest member of the Harte family — and we think you will be too!
Harte has been family-owned in Connecticut since 1951. Joining a group with that kind of history is a big deal, and we're here to make the most of it.
Business is good and we're growing. We're adding to the team and looking for right people to join us! If you're looking for a career instead of a job — a place that puts people first, a chance to build a book of business, move up, and actually like the people you work with — come talk to us.
The Role
You're the first person a customer meets and the one they call two years later. You'll figure out what someone actually needs, put them in the right vehicle, and make the process easy enough that they send their family to you.
In practice, it looks like:
- Welcoming customers who walk in, call, or submit an inquiry online, and following up with the ones who aren't ready yet
- Knowing the Hyundai lineup well enough to explain it plainly, gas and electrified alike
- Running test drives built around the customer's actual questions, not a script — highlighting the features and benefits that matter to them
- Walking customers through pricing, trade values, lease vs. finance, and incentives with straight answers
- Negotiating terms that work for the customer and for the store
- Presenting warranties, protection products, and accessories that genuinely add value
- Keeping your pipeline clean in our CRM so nothing and no one falls through
- Working with the service, finance, and BDC teams so the handoffs are seamless
- Showing up for the community — it's the reason we're here and the reason Harte has lasted 75 years, Harte does real events at the dealership and off site, and our people are part of them
What We're Looking For
Required
- A track record of hitting goals in sales, hospitality, retail, or another role where you were measured on results
- The ability to build trust quickly, hold a real conversation with anyone who walks in, and turn that into a lasting relationship
- Comfort with follow-up: calls, texts, and email, done consistently
- Basic tech fluency — CRM, inventory tools, and digital retailing platforms
- Strong organizational skills for managing a busy pipeline
- Valid Connecticut driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Helpful, not required
- Automotive or retail sales experience and a working understanding of dealership operations
- Confidence negotiating and closing
- Familiarity with EV and hybrid technology, charging, and available incentives
- Spanish or another second language
- Experience with VinSolutions or a comparable CRM
Don't let the jargon scare you. Experience is always a plus, but if you have the desire and you think you'd be good at this, tell us why! We'll train the right person.
