The Reading Success Room Paraeducator will assist the classroom instructor in providing a rich educational environment and creative instruction. The paraeducator will support student learning and intervention services in reading and mathematics, assist with student assessment data, and support positive student behavior interventions. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required.
Applicant must also meet the federal qualification standards:
1. At least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent (documentation required)
2. ParaPro test must meet or exceed Washington’s qualifying score of 455 or completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education; or
3. Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment:
a) Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics;
b) Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness as appropriate;
c) Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in input and management of student data for reading and mathematics assessments;
d) Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in the implementation of Positive Behavior
