ChampIX Fitness- Group Fitness Instructor Position Summary
ChampIX Fitness is seeking a dependable, energetic, and adaptable Group Fitness Instructor to lead a variety of group classes and assist members with exercise programming based on ChampIX MSK assessment results.
This is a diverse position for someone who enjoys working with people of different ages, fitness levels, abilities, and physical limitations.
You do not need to be certified in every class format when hired. Training opportunities are available for candidates willing to learn additional formats; however, employees are responsible for the cost of obtaining required certifications.
Responsibilities
The Group Fitness Instructor will teach and/or be trained to teach classes including:
- Yoga
- Pilates
- Tai Chi
- Cardio Drumming
- HIIT
- Strength and functional fitness
- Mobility, balance, and flexibility
- Low-impact classes
- Modified and adaptive classes for individuals with disabilities or physical limitations
- Additional ChampIX Fitness class formats as programming expands
The instructor will be expected to provide appropriate modifications so members with different abilities and fitness levels can participate safely and successfully.
MSK Assessment Responsibilities
In addition to teaching classes, this position will be responsible for responding to member musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment results using ChampIX protocols.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing member MSK assessment results.
- Following established ChampIX protocols based on identified findings.
- Providing appropriate exercise and movement recommendations.
- Recommending modifications, mobility exercises, strengthening exercises, or appropriate ChampIX classes.
- Helping members understand their recommended exercise plan.
- Following up with members as appropriate.
- Documenting recommendations and member interactions.
- Recognizing findings that require referral to an appropriately licensed healthcare professional.
This position does not diagnose medical conditions or provide medical treatment. The Group Fitness Instructor is expected to remain within their professional scope of practice and follow established ChampIX protocols.
Qualifications
Previous experience in group fitness, personal training, coaching, adaptive fitness, rehabilitation fitness, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience working with people of different ages and abilities.
- An understanding of basic exercise, movement, mobility, strength, and flexibility concepts.
- The ability to learn and follow ChampIX MSK assessment protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive and encouraging approach to fitness.
- Reliability and professionalism.
- Willingness to learn multiple class formats.
- CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain it.
Certifications & Training
Applicants are not required to already hold certifications in every class format offered by ChampIX Fitness.
Training resources will be available for instructors who need to obtain additional certifications or learn new class formats.
Employees are responsible for the cost of required certifications and continuing education unless otherwise approved by ChampIX Fitness.
Instructors must successfully complete required training and demonstrate competency before independently teaching applicable classes or handling assigned MSK assessment responsibilities.

We want someone who can work just as comfortably with a fit adult taking a HIIT class as with a beginner, older adult, or individual who needs significant exercise modifications.

Most importantly, we want someone who understands that fitness is not one-size-fits-all.
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time or part-time scheduling may be available based on ChampIX Fitness programming needs.
Schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.
Compensation will be based on experience, certifications, availability, and assigned responsibilities.
Pay: $12.00 - $25.00 per hour
