Pay: $62.00 – $66.00 per hour

Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 3 × 12-Hour Shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Shreveport, LA.
This opportunity is ideal for an L&D RN with recent experience caring for antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients in a fast-paced maternal and newborn care environment.
The Labor & Delivery RN will provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care while monitoring maternal and fetal conditions, supporting labor and delivery, and responding to obstetric emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery, antepartum, and laboring patients.
- Perform OB ED and obstetric triage assessments.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and identify changes requiring immediate intervention.
- Perform and document fetal heart monitoring.
- Manage labor inductions using Pitocin, Cytotec, and balloon induction methods.
- Administer and monitor Magnesium Sulfate therapy.
- Circulate during Cesarean/C-section procedures.
- Provide care for patients experiencing postpartum hemorrhage (PPH).
- Utilize the Jada System/device when clinically appropriate.
- Perform blood administration according to established protocols.
- Provide couplet care and postpartum support.
- Care for patients with high-risk obstetric conditions.
- Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies.
- Collaborate with OB/GYN providers, physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate electronic patient documentation.
- Follow nursing standards, infection prevention practices, and patient safety protocols.
- Promote positive maternal and newborn outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Louisiana.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience.
- Recent experience caring for antepartum and laboring patients.
- Experience with OB triage and fetal monitoring.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment.

- BLS – Basic Life Support
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- NIHSS – National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- FHM – Fetal Heart Monitoring
