Job Summary
The Angry Elephant is opening in Cinco Ranch, and we're looking for bartenders to anchor the bar from day one. This is the role that sets the tone for the whole room — you'll build great drinks, keep service moving, and turn first-time guests into regulars. Whether you're shaking classics, pouring local craft, or talking someone into trying something new, your bar is the heart of the house. If you'd rather help build a spot than inherit one, this is your shot.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks to spec — consistent pours, clean presentation
- Engage guests warmly from first greeting to last call and make The Angry Elephant feel like their spot
- Keep the bar clean, stocked, and organized to food safety and sanitation standards
- Ring in orders and handle cash and card payments accurately on our POS
- Contribute drink ideas and guest feedback as we build out the Cinco Ranch menu
- Monitor bar inventory — liquor, mixers, garnishes, supplies — and assist with restock and counts
- Check IDs and serve responsibly in line with TABC standards
- Work with the floor team to keep service flowing during rushes and special events
Qualifications
- Proven bartending or food service experience in a hospitality environment; high-volume experience is a plus
- Solid knowledge of mixology, spirits, wine, and craft beer
- TABC certification and Texas Food Handler card, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Comfortable on POS systems (Aloha, Toast, Micros, or similar)
- Strong guest service instincts — friendly, professional, and steady under pressure
- Sharp time management and multitasking during peak volume
- Basic math for cash handling and inventory
- Knowledge of food safety and proper handling procedures
- 18+ per TABC requirements
