Position Summary
All of Us in Recovery is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and recovery-oriented Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide services to individuals enrolled in North Dakota's Medicaid 1915(i) Home and Community-Based Services program.
In this role, you will use your lived experience to support individuals as they work toward their short- and long-term recovery goals. Through person-centered and trauma-informed support, you will help individuals build independence, strengthen community connections, and improve their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals in achieving goals identified in their individualized care plans through one-on-one peer support using lived experience.
- Provide mentorship, encouragement, and recovery-oriented support to promote hope, resilience, and ongoing wellness.
- Assist individuals transitioning to community-based living and services.
- Support the development of coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, self-advocacy, and informed decision-making.
- Connect individuals with community resources, recovery supports, and behavioral health, healthcare, housing, and social service systems.
- Encourage engagement in treatment, recovery activities, and community involvement.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with North Dakota 1915(i) requirements and agency policies.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and required trainings.
- Follow all applicable state, federal, and program requirements.
- Adhere to peer support ethical guidelines and standards of practice
Qualifications Required
- Current North Dakota Certified Peer Support Specialist certification, or the ability to obtain certification within required timelines.
- Lived experience with recovery from substance use and/or mental health challenges, either personally or as a family member.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass all required state and federal background checks for 1915(i) service providers.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the service area.
Preferred
- Experience providing peer support, case management, housing support, or behavioral health services.
- Knowledge of North Dakota 1915(i) services, community resources, and local housing programs.
- Familiarity with recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practices.
