Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dish ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques to ensure quality and safety
- Support catering orders and special event meal preparations with efficiency and enthusiasm
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service hours
- Follow all health department regulations and safety procedures to uphold a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a restaurant environment is highly preferred
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Culinary experience including menu planning, food industry knowledge, or catering background is advantageous
