As a certified pharmacy technician, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders/prescriptions
under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Essential Job Functions:
· Communicates effectively with customers and provide guidance for locating products or understanding services
· Accurately process transactions including cash, checks, and credit cards while following SMCVH policies
· Restock shelves, update pricing, check in vendor deliveries, and maintain inventory systems
· May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department
· May be required to assist pharmacist in retail and/or hospital pharmacy
· Performs a variety of tasks
· Typically reports to supervisor or manager
· Performs other related duties as assigned
· Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
· Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
· Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
· Competent to meet age specific needs of the patients served
· Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
· Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent work experience preferred
• Pharmacy Technician license with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy required
• CPht required
• One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
• Demonstrated ability to use computer skills including keyboarding and practical data entry into
data based software programs
