Job Summary
As a small, family owned and operated restaurant, we excel at and pride ourselves on bringing our diners and guests warm and personable customer service, with dedication to the customer's needs and their dining experience.
We are looking for a Server to help us deliver that level of service and to convey not only our earnest enthusiasm for their dining experience, but the level of cultural and culinary authenticity in our dishes.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using the Toast POS system, and fufilling Takeout orders via telephone, Walk-In and Online ordering platforms, including DoorDash and Grubhub.
- Assist guests with menu selections, highlighting distinct flavors and features of certain dishes, and navigating customer's dietary preferences and restrictions (including potential food allergy conflicts).
- Handle food preparation requests, serve meals and drinks efficiently, and buss tables promptly to maintain cleanliness
- Maintain food safety standards by adhering to sanitation protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cashiering and processing payments via Toast.
- Support kitchen staff by coordinating food orders, ensuring smooth communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in establishments with an emphasis on higher tier customer service.
- Proficiency with POS systems, such as Toast.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence
- Ability to multitask effectively with excellent time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with basic math skills for accurate check processing and cash handling
- Previous host/hostess or bussing experience is a plus, along with culinary or kitchen experience for better understanding of food preparation processes
