Cat Depot is looking for a detail oriented, high energy, active and enthusiastic Cat Caregiver for our cats, kittens and facility! It can be a demanding job as you will be physically active, moving and on your feet throughout the day. It can also be very satisfying and rewarding, since you are personally responsible for the comfort of cats and the first impression visitors have of our organization. The ideal candidate will love cats, and want to be part of something unique and special.
We are considering both Full-Time and Part-Time status for this role! The position will include weekend shifts and flexible hours as needed. Primary responsibilities include daily, thorough sanitation of all cat areas, laundry, dishes, cleaning and mopping of floors, facility maintenance, and cleaning and maintaining all public areas throughout Cat Depot.
Outstanding powers of observation are required as you are the eyes and ears for what is going on with the adoptable and recovering cats. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds for 100 feet; bend and reach; work with a variety of cleaning agents, and willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed.
Help with building maintenance, pick-ups and deliveries of heavy supplies and emergency cat rescues, are part of this position. Must be a team player as well as be able to work on tasks independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide a comfortable, happy and healthy environment for cats by thoroughly cleaning housing enclosures and facility.
- Assist Cat Depot team with various facility, maintenance, and logistic needs to facilitate medical care, adoption, rescue, promotion and education.
- Assist with pick up, delivery and movement of supplies.
- Observe and report cat medical and behavioral concerns to the medical team.
- Assist in disease management by following strict protocols for cleaning.
- Work as a team during cat rescues to provide efficient setup and care of non-routine housing for fear free results.
- Participate in detailed supportive feeding of cats & kittens
