Responsibilities
- Manage data entry and documentation related to shipping, receiving, and freight movements using systems like Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400.
- Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and internal teams to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely dispatching through multi-line phone systems.
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools for route planning, transportation analysis, and tracking shipments to optimize logistics operations.
- Support transportation management systems (TMS) by updating records, monitoring freight status, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Assist with fleet management tasks including vehicle scheduling, maintenance coordination, and compliance documentation.
- Handle shipping & receiving processes accurately while maintaining high standards of phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Perform analysis on supply chain data to identify efficiencies, potential delays, or cost-saving opportunities.
Experience
- Proven experience working with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with logistics concepts including freight handling, dispatching, fleet management, and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data from GPS, GIS tools, and transportation systems for decision-making purposes.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for interacting with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in data entry using systems like SyteLine or AS400; typing speed and accuracy are essential.
- Experience in shipping & receiving operations within a logistics or supply chain environment is highly desirable.
