Duties
- Safely operate automated 12 speed commercial truck across designated routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing routes for fuel efficiency and timeliness.
- Handle various types of general freight, including appliances, paper products, construction products/materials, non hazardous material, food stuff, dry food, etc.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with federal regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues; report any concerns promptly.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, provide updates, and resolve any logistical challenges.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Skilled in operating automated 12 speed transmission truck with proficiency in handling techniques.
- Knowledgeable about FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods.
- Experienced in route planning using GPS navigation tools for efficient deliveries across various terrains.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely while adhering to logistics cargo handling procedures IF need be.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks including load securing, documentation accuracy, and vehicle maintenance checks.
