Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Buyer I for an immediate start in Phoenix, AZ!
Pay: $30/hr. - $35/hr.
Hours: 9-80 A|1st Shift|07:00 AM|
Start Date: ASAP
Job Type: 6+ month contract
Job Responsibilities:
The Buyer I will support core purchasing execution with an emphasis on purchase order placement, Return-to-Vendor (RTV) processing, and expedite management to ensure material availability.
- Place and maintain purchase orders within ERP systems
- Manage expedites and supplier follow-ups to protect production schedules
- Process Return-to-Vendor (RTV) transactions
- Resolve invoice, receipt, and supplier discrepancies
- Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to support material flow
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop procurement strategies and timelines
- Prepare and issue solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) in compliance with regulations
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, performance, and qualifications
- Conduct negotiations, cost analysis, and supplier selection processes
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions in alignment with federal regulations
- Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with agreements
- Maintain supplier relationships to support continuous improvement
- Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, and other procurement regulations
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and innovations
- Perform financial and cost analysis to ensure budget compliance
- Generate reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- 2–5 years of purchasing/buying experience
- Experience with FAR, DFARS, and rated orders
- Strong ERP/MRP system experience
- Familiarity with CPSR documentation/packages
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in procurement systems and software
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance (if required)
