Job Purpose:
To assist our clients by moving their domestic freight in a timely and cost efficient manner while effectively communicating the shipment’s status. This position will provide support to both the operations and sales, acting as it works closely with both groups.
Duties:
- Obtain shipment details from customers, confirm deadlines and enter shipments into the database.
- Check with carriers to make sure they are confirmed to pick up. Track shipments in progress. Make notes in the TMS system as shipment progresses, noting changes or problems as they occur.
- Confirm delivery of shipments and resolve carrier accessorial charges as they occur.
- Confirm charges on shipment and prepare them for billing.
- Potentially to work independently and be “on call” every fifth weekend.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Evaluate carriers and make recommendations on which carriers will continue to move freight.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Can work within the Microsoft Office suite of programs – especially Outlook.
- Can work in an environment where the expectation is 100% on-time delivery.
- Has previous experience with TMS systems (We currently use TAI, Trucker Tools and Highway)
- Candidate should have previous transportation experience working as a freight broker, if you don't know if you have worked for a freight broker, than you have not.
- This position requires a person who can work with shipments which contain a high level of detail and precision.
- Ability to quickly identify problems and form solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- This position will be an entry level position, leading to advancedment as a logistics coordinator.
- Experience in three or more of the following modes are needed: truckload, LTL, expedite, air, specialty and tradeshow transportation.
- Previous experience in tradeshows are a plus.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
