Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (Nursing)
Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02139
Shift: Rotating 12hr shifts: (7a-7p, 7p-7a) | 36 Hrs/Week
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract (Possible Extension)
Facility: CHA Cambridge Hospital
Pay Package:
- Weekly Gross: $3,509/wk
- Weekly Stipends: $2,681/wk
- Hourly Taxable: $23/hr. on W2
- OT Rate: $125/hr.
For Local Candidates (Residing within 50 miles from the facilty):
- Weekly Gross: $2,880/wk
- Hourly Rate: $80/hr
- OT Rate: $105/hr.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 year of experience within specialty.- Required.
- Current/Active MA license in hand.- Required.
- Current BLS, ACLS and NRP cert.- Required.
- Flu vaccine required during season
Responsibilities
- Assess laboring patients through vital signs, fetal monitoring, and physical examinations to determine progress and identify any complications.
- Administer medications including analgesics and oxytocin, following precise protocols for pain management and labor induction.
- Perform neonatal resuscitation procedures and assist with delivery techniques, including suturing and sterile technique adherence.
- Monitor fetal heart rate patterns using electronic fetal monitoring systems such as Epic or Cerner EMR/EHR platforms to ensure fetal well-being.
- Educate expectant mothers on labor progress, pain management options, postpartum care, and newborn care practices.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within electronic health records systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
