Dispatcher/BidderPosition Summary
The Dispatcher/Bidder is responsible for the daily dispatch, planning, and coordination of ASAP drivers, approved carriers, and equipment. This role ensures efficient load management, exceptional customer service, and on-time delivery by effectively matching available equipment with customer freight opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the customer service team by providing timely updates on equipment availability, shipment status, and other critical information to customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, drivers, and carriers through effective communication and proactive problem-solving.
- Monitor and review multiple load boards and bidding platforms to identify freight opportunities for ASAP drivers and approved carriers using the company's Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Match available trucks with internal and external freight opportunities while maximizing equipment utilization and delivering excellent service to customers.
- Ensure owner-operators and company drivers receive complete and accurate load information to meet customer delivery requirements safely and on schedule.
- Maintain real-time awareness of driver and equipment locations through GPS tracking, check calls, and other communication tools.
- Resolve dispatch-related issues quickly and effectively to minimize service disruptions.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure efficient load planning and execution.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation within the TMS.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of dispatch experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of freight bidding or load board experience.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Sylectus and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to safely operate a forklift is preferred.
