The Role
As Managing Veterinarian, you’ll balance clinical practice with leadership, mentorship, and strategic oversight. You’ll partner closely with hospital leadership to ensure consistent medical standards while fostering a positive, accountable, and collaborative environment.
Medical Leadership
- Provide oversight of medical and surgical cases
- Establish, uphold, and evolve medical protocols and standards of care
- Support continuity of care across doctors
- Guide diagnostics, treatment planning, and client communication
- Ensure the hospital remains inspection-ready at all times
Mentorship & Leadership Development
- Mentor and support associate veterinarians
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and performance development
- Partner with leadership on training, CE tracking, and licensure
- Promote a respectful, team-first culture
Practice Operations & Growth
- Support efficient workflows and operational improvements
- Encourage client education, compliance, and patient visits
- Participate in hospital initiatives and community engagement
- Help guide the practice through an upcoming leadership transition

The Ideal Candidate
- DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary school
- Active Arizona license (or ability to obtain)
- 5+ years of clinical experience
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Commitment to practicing high-quality, ethical veterinary medicine
