Manager – Production : Emergency Vehicle Outfitting

This Role runs the shop floor at Arizona's largest and fastest-growing emergency vehicle outfitter. If you need to be managed, if “close enough” is in your vocabulary, or if you go quiet when a build goes sideways at 4:00PM on a Friday, this is not the role for you.

Pride Outfitting builds mission-critical vehicles for Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, and Public Works agencies across the country. Our mission is Safeguarding Our Heroes. The officer, the firefighter, the medic who climbs into one of our vehicles is trusting our work with their life. That is not a marketing line. It is the standard every build is measured against, and the Manager of Production owns that standard on the floor.
The Role
You own the day-to-day execution of every vehicle we build. Build quality, throughput, technician performance, and the production schedule all run through you. You supported and mentored by the Manager – Operations, and the two of you keep the whole operation moving. When a build hits a wall, you're the one who resolves it in real time and protects the integrity of the vehicle. When a technician is coming up short, you're the one who coaches, documents, and holds the line. When the schedule is tight, you find the path without cutting the corner. When everything goes right, you are the one who gives all the glory to your team.
This is a leadership seat, not a lead-tech seat. You'll still need the hands and the technical fluency to step in and instruct. Most of your day is spent making other people better, removing obstacles and keeping vehicles moving.
What You'll Own
· Delivery of the monthly production schedule and capacity plan, on time, at volume.
· Zero Defect. First-pass quality on every vehicle, verified before handover. Lives depend on it, so the standard does not flex.
· A production team that respects you because you're consistent, fair, and technically credible, not because of your title. They may not even know your title, but they will follow you because you are a leader.
· Training and building bench strength so there's a backup, and a backup to the backup, for every role on the floor.
· Parts readiness at the build level in coordination with the warehouse and Manager – Operations. The expectation is five builds ahead, and no build enters the production floor until parts are 100 percent accounted for and on-site.
· SOPs for every production process, written so a new tech can do the job without asking anyone.
· The Production Performance Dashboard and the KPIs behind it: on-time delivery, first-pass quality, build hours vs. target, rework percentage, throughput, and technician productivity.
· Removing obstacles for the team, because their success is what lets your team perform.
What We're Looking For
· 5+ years of hands-on vehicle outfitting or equivalent technical experience.
· Proven experience supervising a team and actually holding people accountable, not just being the senior person in the room.
· Technical fluency in vehicle wiring, equipment installation, siren programming, and troubleshooting.
· A track record of leading, mentoring, and developing people who got better because they worked for you.
· Organizational rigor. You run to a schedule, a budget, and a KPI, and you catch variance early.
· Calm and decisive under pressure. The floor reads your temperature, so it had better be steady.
· Comfort with using technology and software for production and time-tracking related duties.
· Valid Arizona driver's license and clean MVR, insurable as a company driver.
· Clean criminal record – ability to pass a rigorous background investigation.
Candidates from emergency vehicle upfitting, fleet and specialty vehicle production, automotive manufacturing, or any precision build environment with real supervisory experience are encouraged to apply.

· Vehicles leave on schedule and leave right the first time.
· Rework is rare, and when it happens, it's caught at the station, not by the client.
· Your technicians are getting better, and two of them is ready to run the floor if you're out.
· Parts are staged ahead of the build, not chased during it.
· The floor runs on process, rhythm and positive energy, so the business can scale without the quality dropping.
