Seeking a visionary as manager/operator for available restaurant/bakery space that will serve as the centerpoint of the charming Village of Amesville (Ohio) nestled in the foothills of Appalachian Ohio.
As manager you will be a respected leader in a high-profile local establishment in Athens County. The manager controls menu options, scheduling, catering services, and all other decisions from start to finish and has the opportunity to stamp their identify on the new establishment.
Restaurant Manager/Operator Responsibilities include:
- Create an environment conducive to building community and inclusivity
- Handle recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; and enforcing policies and procedures
- Develop comprehensive business plan that includes the restaurant enterprise, auxillary bakery and entertainment, and community engagement.
- Manages on-site catering services for business meetings, birthday and graduation parties, and other special events
- Plans menus by consulting with cooks, estimating food costs and profits, and adjusting menus
- Markets and publicizes the restaurant by designing and placing advertisements
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Restaurant Manager Skills and Qualifications:
- Customer service and business acumen

- Experience running a restaurant

- Multi-tasking
- Strong verbal communication
Preferred but not required qualifications:
- 3+ years of hospitality-related experience
- 3+ years of restaurant manager or supervisory experience
- Familiar with point-of-sale computers and software
- Comfortable using a computer, navigating Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook Email
The Restaurant:
The space is located in a recently renovated historic building located at 10 State Street in Amesville, the main street in town. The space features a full commercial kitchen, separate baking area, dining room, and customer base awaiting the talents and creativity of a restaurant, bakery, and/or catering business manager-operator. An adjoining location at 12 State Street is planned to provide a home to a complementary operation centered around food, art, and entertainment, with a goal of creating a multiuse space committed to cooperative partnerships and community engagement.
Assistance in helping establish the restaurant may be provided in the form of ongoing low-cost rent. There is also the possibility of creating a cooperative enterprise that sees multiple businesses operating out of the space, so creative proposals are encouraged.
The 10 State Street Selection Committee, comprising non-profit partners the Amesville Revitalization Organization and Capstone Properties, will review candidates.

Pay: $15,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
