Help Create a Welcoming Place for Our Community
Grace United Methodist Church is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Evening Facilities Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our congregation, preschool families, staff, and community guests.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working independently, and understands that a clean facility helps create a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
Following paid training with our current custodian, you will work independently each evening to prepare the building for the next day's ministries and activities.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include maintaining classrooms, restrooms, and common areas throughout the church campus.
Daily duties include:
- Empty trash and recycling
- Restock paper towels, soap, and toilet paper
- Clean sinks, countertops, tables, and chairs
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Clean classroom and public restrooms
- Sanitize toilets, sinks, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces
- Sweep the main entrance
- Clean two second-floor public restrooms
- Dust classroom surfaces and windowsills as needed
- Clean trash receptacles as needed
- Report maintenance or supply needs
- Turn off lights and secure the first and second floors when serving as the last employee in the building
Qualifications
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize work and complete assigned tasks each shift
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform routine physical activities including standing, walking, bending, reaching, mopping, and vacuuming
- Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required
Schedule
- Part-time (20 hours per week)
- Monday through Friday
- Regular shift of either: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM, or4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Initial training provided

Pay: $15.00 per hour
