American Traveler is seeking a RN - Med/Surg Tele with at least 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience for a 12-hour day shift contract position at a Trauma Level III teaching hospital.

457-bed Trauma Level III teaching hospital

Post Surgical Care unit with 32 beds
-
Patient population includes general surgery, bariatric surgery, orthopedic, and various medical/surgical diagnoses
-
RN patient ratio of 1:4-6, with surges up to 1:7-8
-
LPN patient ratio of 1:4-6, with surges up to 1:7-8
-
CNA patient ratio of 1:8-11
-
Remote telemetry monitoring support available
-
12-hour day shift schedule, 0700-1900, 36 hours per week
-
Weekend rotation required every other weekend
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating required within Region 1 facilities (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH for pediatric patients only) as needed and within scope of practice

Uses EPIC EMR, BD Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Masimo monitors

Active RN license (NC or Compact) required

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required

Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
-
Experience with trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, NG tubes, ostomy care, drains, wound care, continuous bladder irrigation, tube feeds, and cardiac rhythm interpretation required

EPIC EMR experience required
-
Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

At least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required

Support staff includes 24/7 charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage, plus CNA support and resource nurse as staffing allows
-
Facility features include a Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of Excellence
-
Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation

Travelers will be required to work approximately 75% of holidays
-
Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; time must be made up at the end of the contract if contracted hours are not met
