POSITION OVERVIEW
Saint Bridget School is seeking a passionate, energetic, and faith-filled Music Teacher to lead our Preschool through Grade 8 music program for the 2026–2027 school year. Program typically is scheduled on three days a week schedule and follows the school calendar, September to June. The successful candidate recognizes that music is an essential part of a Catholic education and is committed to creating joyful, engaging learning experiences that inspire creativity, build confidence, and deepen students' faith.
This position extends beyond classroom instruction to include leadership of school liturgies, concerts, choir, drama productions, and many of the traditions that bring our school community together. We seek an educator who is collaborative, organized, and enthusiastic about making the Music Room one of the happiest places in our school.
THE SAINT BRIDGET MUSIC PROGRAM
Music is one of the cornerstones of student life at Saint Bridget School. Our Music Teacher is not simply a classroom instructor, but a leader of one of the school's most visible ministries. Students in Preschool through Grade 8 participate in weekly music instruction while developing their musical talents through singing, movement, classroom instruments, music literacy, performance, and worship.

· Christmas Concert
· Spring Concert
· School Choir
· Drama Club Production
· Variety Show
· Advent Prayer Service
· First Communion
· Other school celebrations

· Supports the prayer life of the school through music.
· Integrates faith into daily instruction and school celebrations.
Music Instruction & Curriculum
· Teach engaging music classes for Preschool through Grade 8.
· Develop age-appropriate lessons incorporating singing, movement, rhythm, music literacy, listening skills, classroom instruments, and music appreciation.
· Create lessons aligned with the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Frameworks.
· Maintain organized lesson plans using Google Docs.
Liturgical Music & Faith Formation
· Prepare music for weekly School Masses and Tuesdays Together.
· Coordinate music selections, rehearsal schedules, and worship materials.
· Collaborate with faculty to support the Catholic mission.
Performances & Student Programs
· Coordinate the Christmas Concert, Spring Concert, Choir, Drama Club, Variety Show, Advent Prayer Service, First Communion, and other school events.
Planning & Organization
· Plan proactively for concerts, liturgies, and special events.
· Maintain classroom instruments and materials.
· Prepare lessons and materials for substitute teachers when needed.
Classroom Management & Student Engagement
· Create a welcoming, energetic classroom.
· Promote positive behavior and joyful participation.
· Differentiate instruction for all learners.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
· Collaborate with faculty and administration.
· Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
Communication & Planning
· Communicate with families regarding performances.
· Maintain records using FACTS SIS and Google Classroom.
· Additional duties may be assigned in support of the school's mission.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Music Education or related field required.
· Massachusetts Music Licensure preferred.
· Experience teaching elementary or middle school music preferred.
· Piano accompaniment and choral directing skills preferred.
· Commitment to Catholic education.
