Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a school district in Buffalo, NY with an immediate opening for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to supervise student health service RNs and LPNs in Buffalo, NY at a partnering school district.
Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor provides organization and guidance to the clinicians, educators, and/or nurses and oversees program development and implementation. Supplemental Health Care works collaboratively with nurse supervisors to be the liaison at locations where a significant number of school-based RNs and LPNs are assigned to a specific district. Assignments will be made, and allocated time will be determined by the number of nurses assigned and the scope of work of the assignment. The nurse supervisor performs and manages professional nursing care delivery and health maintenance services for the Student Health Services under the general supervision of the Director of Behavioral, Social, and Emotional Wellness and the Supplemental Health Care Vice President of Quality Assurance.
Qualifications:
- New York RN License
- American Heart Association BLS
- Minimum of 1 year of prior nursing experience in a school or pediatric setting
- Prior supervisory experience is required
School Health Office RN Contract Details:
- $40-$43 an hour (based on borough)
- Full-time school nurse coverage available
- Monday – Friday schedule following the school district calendar
- RN will see students on an as-needed basis in the school health office
- Nurse will be working in collaboration with the school interdisciplinary team and student guardian(s) to promote physical and emotional safety and wellness
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Oversees and supports execution of quality nursing services and Education resource service programs within a designated zone in the district.
- Ensure requirements and expectations of school nursing sites are met.
- Create action plans and make changes as needed to insure continual improvement.
- Support School Division Balance Scorecard Objectives for SHC nurses and client relationships and retention.
- Collaborate and regularly interact with local central office district and SHC team
- Communicate effectively on multiple levels and with multiple constituents.
- Provide solutions to clinical and administrative problems.
The registered nurse (RN) supervisor will also provide education and community outreach programs for parents to promote physical, mental, emotional, and social health and wellness. RN will work in collaboration with Supplemental Health Care's team and inter-collaboratively with a multidisciplinary educational support team to promote student success.
