Duties
- Responsible for thorough dishwashing using commercial equipment, ensuring all utensils, cookware, and dishware are sanitized according to food safety procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as organizing supplies and basic ingredient handling under supervision
- Clear and reset tables promptly, bussing dishes and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to enhance guest satisfaction
- Follow proper sanitation protocols for cleaning kitchen surfaces, equipment, and dining spaces to uphold health standards
- Support kitchen staff with manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting of supplies and moving equipment safely
- Operate kitchen equipment with care, adhering to safety guidelines at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by regularly sanitizing workstations and ensuring compliance with kitchen health and safety standards
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation best practices in a restaurant setting
- Experience in food handling, food service, or restaurant environments is preferred
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and prep tools
- Strong understanding of kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents or contamination
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to support food preparation, bussing, and cleaning duties efficiently
- Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
