Job description:
The front office staff are responsible for answering incoming calls, patient check-in, patient check-out, updating demographics and insurance, insurance verification, scanning, collecting copays and balances, giving appropriate paperwork to patients arriving at the office, faxing as needed, distribution of paperwork to appropriate locations in the office, backing up call center with overflow calls, scheduling appointments and more.
Duties:
- Greeting patients and families with warmth and a smile
- Answering phones
- Check in and check out patients for appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility
- Processing incoming faxes to appropriate departments
- Collect co-pays and past due balances
- Scheduling appointments
- Correct input of intake paperwork at check-in entering patient demographics, etc.
- Reconcile balance of credit cards and cash
- Always demonstrate service excellence
- Other duties as assigned
