Animal Eye Specialists (AES) is in need of an individual to work as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). We are looking for a friendly, responsible, and efficient individual with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced specialty hospital. A RVT provides assistance to AES veterinarians with a variety of procedures, with an emphasis in the following areas: physical exams related to ophthalmic conditions; sedation to perform procedures to treat ophthalmic conditions including ocular ultrasounds, anesthesia induction, ET Tub placement and IV catheter placement; anesthetic monitoring of patients during ophthalmic surgeries, procedures, and treatments including monitoring patients during recovery from surgery, procedures, and treatments.
Responsibilities:

Restraint of patients for physical exams related to ophthalmic conditions.

Patient preparation for sedation and anesthesia to perform procedures and surgeries to treat ophthalmic conditions.

Surgical preparation including endotracheal tub placement, anesthesia induction, and IV catheter placement.

Patient monitoring while under anesthesia in the operating room during ophthalmic surgeries.
- Patient monitoring during recovery from surgery and other sedated procedures.

Cleaning and maintenance of surgical instruments, diagnostic equipment, and surgical medical equipment.

Cleaning and maintenance of operating, procedure, and exam rooms.
- History taking and record keeping

Client communication as directed by attending veterinarian

Light cleaning of the AES physical clinic areas as needed.
Requirements:

Hold a current Registered Veterinary Technician license valid and in good standing in the state of California.

Experience in a veterinary clinic (specialty or non specialty) is preferred, but not required.

Compensation:
Starting at $33.00/ hour. Final wage will take into account and be commensurate with experience.
Hours and Availability:

We are anticipating this position to be 32-40 hours/ week on a consistent basis.

We are open Monday through Friday with normal business hours of 8AM to 6PM.

We are a long established (over 20 years) Veterinary Ophthalmology specialty practice in Campbell, CA. We provide care for the eye problems of pets. We currently have a team of 3 boarded doctors in Veterinary Ophthalmology, 5 Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT), 1 Veterinarian Assistant (VA), 3 Customer Service Representative (CSR) and 1 Practice Manager.
