This is a front-line leadership position with direct impact on customer satisfaction, project timelines, and company profitability.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations
- Direct daily warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, staging, and outbound delivery coordination for cabinet and closet product lines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and protection of cabinets, closet components, hardware, and related materials to prevent damage and shrinkage.
- Accurately process inbound freight: verify packing slips against purchase orders, document discrepancies, and coordinate vendor corrections promptly.
- Manage staging and loading of outbound orders for installer teams and job-site deliveries; confirm load accuracy against work orders before departure.
- Maintain warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, and shelving systems in safe operating condition; coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
Inventory Management
- Own the accuracy of all inventory records within the company's ERP or inventory management system; conduct and reconcile regular cycle counts and periodic full physical inventories.
- Establish and enforce minimum stock levels and reorder points for high-velocity SKUs; generate purchase requisitions to prevent stockouts that could delay active projects.
- Identify slow-moving, damaged, or obsolete inventory and escalate recommendations for disposition to leadership.
- Manage the returns process for defective or incorrect product, coordinating credits and replacements with vendors in a timely manner.
- Track and report inventory variance metrics; investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
Delivery Coordination
- Schedule and coordinate all outbound deliveries using third-party carriers, subcontracted drivers, and company vehicles; optimize routes and delivery windows to meet job-site commitments.
- Communicate proactively with project managers, installers, and customers regarding delivery schedules, confirmations, and any delays.
- Maintain complete delivery documentation including manifests, proof-of-delivery records, and exception logs.
- Partner with the sales and project management teams to align warehouse capacity and scheduling with the active project pipeline.
- Resolve delivery exceptions such as damaged goods, missing items, or site access issues quickly and professionally to minimize project disruption.
Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise warehouse associates; set clear performance expectations and conduct regular feedback conversations.
- Build and maintain daily and weekly work schedules to ensure adequate staffing aligned with order volume and project demand.
- Foster a culture of accountability, mutual respect, and continuous improvement; recognize strong performance and address performance gaps promptly.
- Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and incident investigations; enforce proper use of PPE and safe material-handling practices at all times.
- Support bilingual communication within the team; coordinate with HR on Spanish-language training materials and safety communications where applicable.

- Monitor vendor delivery performance including on-time rate, order accuracy, and damage rates; escalate persistent issues to leadership with supporting data.
- Participate in vendor discussions related to freight terms, packaging standards, and return and credit policies in coordination with operations leadership.
- Develop relationships with reliable local freight carriers to ensure consistent capacity during peak periods and for special project deliveries.
Process Improvement and Reporting
- Develop, document, and maintain warehouse SOPs covering all key operational processes; update procedures as workflows evolve or company needs change.
- Track and report weekly KPIs including order accuracy rate, on-time delivery rate, inventory variance, receiving turnaround time, and damage or claim rate.
- Identify and lead improvement initiatives that reduce handling time, increase fill rates, or lower operational costs.
- Partner with operations leadership on capacity planning, layout optimization, and technology upgrades.
- Provide budgeting inputs related to warehouse labor, supplies, freight, and equipment on a periodic basis.
