Weekend Lead
Job Summary
Community Living is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and organized Weekend Lead to provide direct support to adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The Weekend Lead is responsible for overseeing the operation of the home during weekend hours while providing quality direct care and leadership to Direct Support Professionals working the shift. This position plays a vital role in promoting independence, ensuring quality services, maintaining regulatory compliance, and creating a safe, clean, and supportive environment for the individuals we support.
Weekend Leads work closely with their supervisor and interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care, address weekend staffing and operational needs, and support individuals in achieving their personal goals while maintaining compliance with Community Living and Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) standards.
Schedule
Friday: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (sleep overnight at the residence)
Saturday: 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM (sleep overnight at the residence)
Sunday: 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM (sleep overnight at the residence)
Monday: 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Hours
50 paid hours each weekend. Overnight sleep time is unpaid unless support is required during the night.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with at least three (3) years of driving history required
- No more than two (2) points on driving record and must be eligible for coverage under the company's insurance policy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and participate in two person lifts
- Ability to bend, stoop, push, and pull as required
- Ability to work holidays and during inclement weather when scheduled
- Must successfully complete CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, and all required training
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support with personal care, hygiene, grooming, and activities of daily living
- Assist with meal planning, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and organized home
- Administer and document medications in accordance with DDA regulations and Community Living policies
- Complete daily documentation, progress notes, medication records, and incident reports accurately and on time
- Implement and document Person Centered Plans (PCPs)
- Support individuals with community outings, appointments, recreational activities, shopping, and transportation
- Oversee the operation of the home throughout the weekend and ensure services are delivered in accordance with agency policies and DDA regulations
- Provide guidance and support to Direct Support Professionals working weekend shifts
- Monitor the health, safety, and well being of individuals receiving services
- Communicate significant changes, concerns, emergencies, and incidents to supervisors and the on call management team
- Ensure household supplies are maintained and the residence remains safe, clean, and inspection ready
- Conduct fire drills and maintain required safety and compliance documentation
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide staffing support as needed
- Participate in required trainings and ongoing professional development
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a group home, residential, healthcare, or human services setting
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or behavioral health needs
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and problem solving skills
- Medication Administration Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Pay
$18.72 to $20.17 per hour, based on experience.
