This position requires a valid Michigan teaching or school counseling certificate required. We will work with individuals that do not possess a Michigan Teaching Certificate but have a Bachelor’s Degree in School Counseling or a related field for certification.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Valid Michigan Teaching or School Counseling Certificate;
- Demonstrated experience in school counseling programs/ASCA National Model
- Understanding of 31A/At-Risk identification and funding
- Establish and lead small groups
- Deliver classroom lessons to meet unique needs of student population
- Develop interventions and plans for students at-risk
- Target and support students and families in crisis
- Support for students with truancy concerns
- Incorporate Case management model for addressing failures
- Individual social emotional and academic counseling
- Parent and Community - School liaison
- Work with students that have experienced trauma impacting their education
- Coordinate and support students with 504 plans
- Train staff to assist students that are experiencing difficulties in school due to trauma and other outside factors
- Work with the Student Assistance Team to implement academic and behavioral interventions
