Responsibilities:
- Perform Functional Safety Analysis for Conventional and Electrified Powertrain systems and Vehicle Protection features.
- Define Item Definition, including system functions, architecture, and interactions with interfacing systems.
- Develop and maintain system models using Medini Analyze and Simulink.
- Conduct HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Analysis) to identify system malfunctions.
- Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) to determine ASIL ratings, Safety Goals, and Safe States.
- Identify and evaluate risks associated with system failures under various operating conditions.
- Derive Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs) and allocate them to appropriate system modules.
- Develop Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs) in alignment with architecture-independent design principles and the 3-level eGAS concept.
- Allocate safety requirements to hardware and software components.
- Perform and review system-level safety analyses:
- Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
- FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis)
- DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Common Cause Analysis (CCA)
- Evaluation of safety channels and safety mechanisms
- Conduct fault injection testing to determine Fault Tolerant Time Interval (FTTI).
- Perform impact analysis for carry-over systems with updated or refined features.
- Plan and execute system-level and vehicle-level integration and validation testing.
- Verify and validate test cases and test results across component, system, and vehicle levels.
- Perform simulation-based validation of safety concepts and fault scenarios.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and interfacing system owners to ensure alignment on safety requirements.
- Ensure proper communication protocols and integration across system architectures.
- Maintain end-to-end traceability of safety requirements across all V-model work products.
- Develop and manage Safety Case documentation, ensuring evidence of compliance and completeness.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 26262 functional safety standards throughout the lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, or related engineering field.
- 6+ years of experience in powertrain functional safety automotive electronics.
- Strong understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety standard.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Medini Analyze, MATLAB/Simulink.
- Expertise in safety analysis techniques (FTA, FMEDA, DFMEA, HARA, HAZOP).
- Knowledge of automotive system architecture, powertrain systems, and ECU development.
- Experience with Electrified Powertrain systems.
- Familiarity with eGAS safety concepts and FTTI analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
